A pair of Cranes

This is my 2006 Christmas card. It's a closer look at the Japanese crane. Enjoy!

Cyclamen

These were fun to paint. I really had to debate whether or not to darken the background, since I really liked the contrast.

This is the last of the series of cards. And again, it waits for me to pick it up from the framer. I hope they all turn out wonderful!

13 amazing paintings are waiting at the framers! I just hope it stops raining long enough for me to put them all in a taxi without getting soaked!

Orchid

Here is the third in the series of four. This one is very much like the orchid series I painted for The Helena May. The biggest difference is size. The paintings in this series are about 12" x 12", whereas the ones hanging in The HM are approx. 36" x 36". Wow, painting flowers that large was a challenge! Not to mention, I really feared tearing the paper trying to handle the artwork while it was soaking wet.

Stargazer Lilies

I love these flowers! They are one of my favorites! This paiting is another in the series of paintings put on cards. The original waits for pick up at the frame shop in Jordan.

The green seems a bit brighter than the actual paper, but I think you get the idea.

Plum blossom on green paper

I so enjoyed painting on this green paper with gold flecks. I liked it so much, I went back to the art shop and bought up all they had!
I think the thin, tissue-like paper is actually supposed to be used for calligraphy, but I think the pink blossoms really stand out on the green. I did several floral series on this paper. One large set of three is hanging in The Helena May, one small set is on scrolls and another is currently at the framers, waiting to be picked up!
I so enjoyed this set, that I have made them into 5 x 5 cards. I have to admit, I think they look fabulous!
